Here’s an idea for topping wedding cupcakes instead of sugar paste flowers or roses. How about crystallised rose petals? They are shown here on a Lemon Drizzle Cake, but they could be very pretty on cupcakes. Pink or peach petals with pastel pink, cream, yellow or peach frosting or deep reds and pinks with vanilla or deep pink frosting – the combinations are endless. The roses could be chosen to tie in with the colour theme of the wedding from pastels, to mid-pinks and peaches to the darkest reds and pinks. The cakes could even be flavoured with rose water to carry the ‘rose’ theme through!
