I delivered and set up these cupcakes tonight for a 65th birthday – the man in question is a very keen fisherman. The cupcakes are all carrot cupcakes with orange frosting. This was the first outing for this stand and I was all fingers and thumbs putting it together, but got there in the end! You can’t see in the photo, but the central pole lights up.
The colour theme was all emerald, silver and gold, with a variety of magic sparkles, edible glitters and gold and silver lustre used. There were large gold fish:
and silver fish:
and a variety of fishing paraphanalia from a fishing creel to fishing jacket and hat and miniature fish.
I hope they were pleased with the overall effect and that everyone enjoyed the cupcakes.
This week has been really busy, with the phone ringing off the hook yesterday and today. Many of my orders are starting to come from people who have tried a cupcake at a party or at a friend’s house – they say the proof of the pudding is in the eating! This all means I am really busy next week with an interview and photos for a magazine, an Indulgence Evening in Fenstanton where I will be selling cakes individually and several other birthday and engagement orders!
