These were made this weekend for a small wedding reception at The George in Buckden. These are chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting in brown cases decorated with white chocolate roses brushed with gold lustre – very pretty!
Then there were Fresh Ginger and Molasses Cupcakes with Lemon Fondant Icing, topped with a cream daisy with a brown centre.
The gold foil cases tie in nicely with the gold theme, whereas the decorations were kept very plain and simple.
Then there were some very sweet mini cupcakes: Lemon and Poppyseed Cupcakes with Lemon Frosting, topped with gold glitter and cream blossoms with a gold ball centre:
A little gold was introduced on each cupcake, which tied them all together, but the overall effect was very subtle. I didn’t set these cakes up at the reception, so I don’t know what they looked like on the stand, but hopefully the bride and groom were pleased with them!
