Valentine’s Day Devil’s Food Cupcakes

Yesterday I made samples of Devil’s Food Cupcakes which are going to be my specials for January and February, including Valentine’s Day.

This year I am aiming to include lots of new frostings and sponges on the specials page. For orders throughout these two months, the Devil’s Food Cupcakes will come with a Chocolate Fudge Frosting and mini chocolate cigars on top. The chocolate fudge frosting sets on the cakes, but melts in the mouth – very nice with the dark, moist Devils’ Food cake…

For Valentine’s Day, they will come with red roses and icing plaques with such phrases as ‘Sweetheart’ and ‘Be Mine’.

The Devil’s Food Cupcakes can also be ordered with chocolate ganache or piped chocolate frosting, if you prefer the ‘piped’ look!

I have another cake planned for Valentine’s Day – a 7″ /18cm square Devil’s Food Cake covered with red sugarpaste and decorated with gold lustre letters spelling out LOVE. It will be a modern take on cake for those looking for something a bit different. I am waiting for my new tins to arrive, so I can make and photograph a sample! Hopefully I should have that done by the weekend. Photos coming soon!
