So here they are at long last, part of a range of English Summer Fruit Cupcakes, which I have just launched today. These are the Apple Cinnamon Crumble Cupcakes:
They consist of a sponge with chunks of sharp Bramley apple, a cinnamon frosting, a crunchy cinnamon crumble sprinkled over and topped with a white flower.
These are the other flavours in the range:
Raspberry Cupcake with a vanilla sponge, filled with raspberry conserve, raspberry frosting and topped with a fresh raspberry
Strawberry Cupcake with vanilla sponge, filled with strawberry conserve, strawberry frosting and topped with a fresh strawberry
Blackcurrant and Elderflower Crumble Cupcake with a vanilla and blackcurrant sponge, elderflower frosting and a crunchy crumble, decorated with a purple flower
Rhubarb and Ginger Crumble Cupcake with a vanilla sponge filled with rhubarb and ginger conserve, rhubarb and ginger frosting and a gingery crumble, decorated with a rhubarb pink flower
I took my inspiration from English garden fruits and traditional English puddings. The cupcakes will all be made using local fruit whenever possible and should prove to be very popular at summer gatherings.
